Premier’s Shruti Makes History as First Nepali in WSC Hall of Fame
Bangkok – Premier International IB Continuum School has marked a historic achievement on the global academic stage, with student Shruti Shrestha becoming the first Nepali ever inducted into the World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) Hall of Fame. She also claimed the coveted title of Overall Champion Scholar – Senior Division – at the 2025 Global Round in Bangkok.
Premier’s 10-member delegation delivered a remarkable performance against a field of more than 5,200 scholars from 30 countries, bringing home 19 Gold and 39 Silver medals. All 10 students qualified for the prestigious Tournament of Champions to be held at Yale University this December.
Shruti’s journey to the top began at the Kathmandu Regional Round, where she won the elite JAC Khor Award. In Bangkok, she matched this feat at the international level, earning the JAC Khor Award once again along with her Hall of Fame induction and the Global Champion title. Her medal count was equally stunning – 11 Gold and 4 Silver.

She was joined by an exceptional team of Premier scholars:
- Garima Ranjit (G12) – 1 Gold, 7 Silver
- Sanvee Upadhyay (G10) – 1 Gold, 4 Silver; also served as Nepal’s official flagbearer at the opening ceremony
- Sanskrity Adhikary (G9) – 1 Gold, 3 Silver
- Bianca Pal (G10) – 1 Gold, 4 Silver
- Rachel Sapkota (G9) – 3 Silver
- Sanaatan Neupane (G7) – 2 Silver
- Aarush Acharya (G8) – 2 Silver
- Mantra Pokharel (G10) – 2 Gold, 6 Silver
- Suprina Ami Adhikari (G10) – 1 Gold, 4 Silver
The WSC Global Round challenges participants through interdisciplinary debates, collaborative problem-solving, creative writing marathons, and high-pressure knowledge bowls – all designed to test critical thinking, teamwork, and the ability to apply knowledge to real-world issues.
Premier’s Bangkok success follows an equally dominant showing at the Kathmandu Regional Round earlier this year, where the school’s scholars amassed 535 Gold medals, 511 Silver medals, and 32 Gold Trophies in categories such as Team Bowl, Subject Challenge, Writing Champion, Asimov Award, and Team Debate.
From December 8 to 14, Premier’s delegation will join the world’s top scholars at Yale University for the Tournament of Champions, where they will compete in Oxford-style debates, collaborative writing sessions, and cultural exchanges.
As Nepal’s only IB Continuum School, Premier International continues to demonstrate how academic excellence, ethical leadership, and global citizenship can go hand in hand – proving that Nepali students can shine on the most prestigious platforms in the world.
