Don’t Miss Out: Himalaya Jet Opens Recruitment Ahead of UK, Europe and Australia Flights

Kathmandu-Himalaya Jet has announced that preparations are in the final stage to launch direct long haul air services connecting Nepal with the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia. As part of its initial phase, the airline has opened applications for a range of customer service and operational positions.

The company said the long awaited project has reached its final preparation stage after overcoming nearly three years of political and regulatory challenges in Nepal. It believes the initiative will finally establish direct air links between Nepal and key international destinations, improving tourism, trade, and global connectivity.

According to Himalaya Jet, despite Nepal being home to eight of the world’s highest mountains and one of South Asia’s leading tourist destinations, the country has lacked direct long haul international flights for more than 35 years. This has made travel less convenient for international visitors and the global Nepali diaspora. The airline says its project aims to change that and usher in a new era for Nepal’s aviation industry.

The company described the milestone as the result of years of dedication, perseverance, and commitment. It has worked with leading aviation experts and consultants, international civil aviation authorities, policymakers, and internationally certified airline operators in the UK, Europe, and Australia to complete the initial arrangements for flight operations.

Until it secures its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC), Himalaya Jet plans to operate services through partner airlines. Once Nepal is removed from the European Union Air Safety List and the airline receives its AOC, it intends to begin regular flights under its own operating certificate.

The airline also announced that it will soon host its first international press conference in London, where it will unveil further details about the project.

As part of its recruitment drive, Himalaya Jet is hiring for several positions, including Passenger Service Officer, Customer Service Executive, Airport Operations Assistant, Reservation and Ticketing Officer, Contact Centre (Call Centre) Advisor, Ground Operations Support, Administration and Office Assistant, Finance and Accounts Assistant, Human Resources Officer, Marketing and Sales Executive, IT Support Officer, and Operations Coordinator.

The airline said experienced pilots and cabin crew have already been arranged through partner airlines, while ground handling services in the UK, Europe, and Australia will be managed by qualified service providers.

Nepali citizens living in Nepal, the UK, Europe, and Australia, as well as foreign nationals who are fluent in Nepali, are eligible to apply. Interested candidates can submit their CVs to careers@himalayajet.com. The application deadline is July 30, 2026.
