Prime Minister Unveiled Nepal’s First Flying Car, Deepal eVTOL, at NADA Auto Show 2025
Kathmandu – Nepal made history at the NADA Auto Show 2025 as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli officially unveiled the Deepal eVTOL, marking the country’s first-ever introduction of a flying car. The groundbreaking reveal took place on the opening day of the exhibition at Bhrikuti Mandap, setting a new milestone in Nepal’s transportation landscape.
The unveiling ceremony was joined by Vishnu Kumar Agrawal, Chairman of MAW Vriddhi Group, and Vivek Sikaria, Managing Director of the Group. Speaking at the event, Agrawal highlighted, “This marks a major milestone in bringing the future of mobility to Nepal,” while Sikaria added, “We are proud to showcase innovation that may redefine transportation in the country.”
The Deepal eVTOL, developed through a collaboration between EHang, a global leader in autonomous aerial vehicles, and Changan Automobile, one of China’s largest automakers, is designed to revolutionize personal transportation. Deepal, a new-energy sub-brand of Changan, has partnered with EHang to create next-generation flying vehicles powered by autonomous flight technology.
The eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle) blends aeronautical engineering with advanced electric propulsion systems. It is capable of vertical take-off and landing, offering solutions to urban congestion, noise reduction, and carbon emissions. Its futuristic design is complemented by cutting-edge smart technology, making it both a practical and stylish step toward sustainable air mobility.
Changan has announced plans to invest over USD 2.76 billion by 2030 in developing advanced air and sea mobility solutions, signaling a long-term commitment to future transportation.
For Nepal, the introduction of the Deepal eVTOL is more than a product showcase — it symbolizes the nation’s readiness to embrace innovative and eco-friendly mobility solutions. For MAW Vriddhi Group, which has long been associated with introducing world-class brands to Nepal, the unveiling represents a defining moment in its journey to lead the country into a new era of transport innovation.
The Deepal eVTOL’s debut has not only elevated the excitement at this year’s NADA Auto Show 2025 but has also etched a historic chapter in Nepal’s automotive and mobility evolution.
