Yoga and Mindfulness Unite Chinese and Nepali Participants
Beijing. The Embassy of Nepal in Beijing, China, organized a special yoga and meditation session for both Chinese and Nepali participants to mark International Meditation Day, promoting well-being, mindfulness, and cross-cultural harmony.
The session, titled “Connection of Soul and Body,” was led by Guru Amar (Yogi Ramesh Sitaula), who had arrived from Nepal. He guided participants through meditation, singing bowl therapy, and yoga practices.
Chargé d’Affaires Roshan Khanal noted that this year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, recalling that the relationship between the two countries began as early as the fifth century through the exchange of knowledge and teachings among monks and scholars. She highlighted that Kathmandu and its surrounding areas offer peaceful environments for Ayurvedic and spa treatments, Ayurvedic hospitals, yoga trekking opportunities, and many places dedicated to yoga and meditation in Nepal. According to her, Nepal’s yoga tradition provides a holistic environment enriched with spirituality, offering a modern approach to well-being for traditional practitioners. She invited everyone to visit Nepal to experience its spiritual ambiance and tranquility.
Representatives from Nepali and Chinese organizations attended the program. Guru Amar also provided healing to participants through singing bowls. The World Health Organization began observing World Meditation Day on December 21 starting in 2024 to raise awareness about meditation and its benefits.
