Gold and Silver prices drop sharply in Nepal
Kathmandu – The price of gold dropped sharply in the domestic market on Monday, falling by NPR 13,400 per tola (11.66 grams), according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.
Following the latest price adjustment, fine gold is being traded at NPR 286,600 per tola, down from NPR 300,000 per tola on Sunday. The decline extends the downward trend observed since the end of last week.
Gold prices had previously surged to an all-time high of NPR 339,300 per tola on January 29 before starting to ease in recent days, the Federation said.
Silver prices also moved lower on Monday. Silver is being traded at NPR 5,200 per tola, marking a decline of NPR 300 from NPR 5,500 per tola a day earlier.
Market observers say the recent correction follows a sharp rise in precious metal prices, with traders closely monitoring global trends and domestic demand for further direction.
