SEE answer sheets to be checked at exam centers; results within a month
Kathmandu: The National Examination Board has decided to evaluate Secondary Education Examination (SEE) answer sheets directly at the respective exam centers, aiming to publish results within one month.
The move follows a directive from Education Minister Sasmita Pokharel, who has instructed authorities to ensure timely publication of results and reduce delays that have affected students in previous years.
SEE Controller Tukraj Adhikari said that setting up evaluation centers at exam locations will help speed up the process. However, he added that if there is a shortage of teachers or security concerns, answer sheets can be shifted and checked at alternative locations with coordination from education authorities.
In the past, answer sheets were sent to confidential centers, often across provinces, which led to delays. The new approach is expected to make the evaluation process faster, more efficient, and transparent.
The SEE examinations are set to begin from Chaitra 19, with all preparations completed nationwide. A total of 1,966 exam centers have been established, including one in Japan. This year, 512,421 students are appearing for the SEE exams, including 257,613 girls, 254,801 boys, and 7 students under other categories. The board has urged all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and stress-free environment during the examinations.
