NAIMA conducts hybrid vehicle training in Kathmandu
Kathmandu-A technical training on hybrid vehicle mechanism, safety, and maintenance was conducted in Kathmandu under the coordination of Nepal Automobiles Importers and Manufacturers Association, with technical support from United Traders Syndicate Pvt Ltd.
The program, held at NAIMA’s central office, brought together over 25 participants, including diploma students from Balaju School of Engineering and Technology under Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training, along with traffic personnel.
Participants received both theoretical and practical training on hybrid vehicle systems, focusing on mechanism, safety, and maintenance. The training follows a previous three-day electric vehicle program conducted at Laxmi Hyundai, aiming to build progressive technical knowledge from EV to hybrid technologies.
NAIMA Executive Director Raj Kumar Dulal said such initiatives would help strengthen technical skills and capacity among students and professionals. CTEVT Deputy Director Khushiram Adhikari highlighted plans to prioritize the inclusion of hybrid vehicle studies in academic curricula, noting their growing relevance in Nepal.
Similarly, Vice Principal Pradeep Neupane emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the automobile industry and technical education institutions to produce skilled manpower.
At the closing session, Suryansh Vaidya of Vaidya Organization of Industries and Trading Houses said practical training programs like this contribute to professional development and innovation, stressing the importance of advancing technical expertise in hybrid technologies.
The hybrid training was conducted by Toyota’s technical experts, while the earlier EV training was led by specialists from Laxmi Hyundai. NAIMA stated it will continue such capacity-building initiatives to support Nepal’s growing automobile and mobility sector.
