Nepal Airlines plans direct Kathmandu-Dhaka flights
Kathmandu-Nepal Airlines is preparing to launch direct flights between Kathmandu and Dhaka in the near future. The airline has already initiated necessary preparations and formed a feasibility study subcommittee to assess the viability of the route.
Despite Bangladesh being a neighboring country, Nepal’s national flag carrier has not yet operated flights to Dhaka. According to Operations Department Director and Senior Captain Subash Rizal, all required procedures are being advanced with a focus on growing demand.
Currently, regular flights from Bangladesh to Kathmandu are already in operation. Nepal’s private carrier, Himalaya Airlines, has also been flying to Dhaka. However, Nepal Airlines has not yet introduced its own service on this route. The final decision on launching the flights will be made based on the report submitted by the study committee.
In addition, Nepal Airlines has expanded its Kathmandu–Delhi–Kathmandu route. Since March 30 (Chaitra 17), the airline has added three more weekly flights, bringing the total frequency to 10 flights per week.
To further strengthen and improve its cargo operations, the airline has also formed a Cargo Management System Study Taskforce.
