Nepal’s EV Market Heats Up: King Long Launches Powerful 16-Seater Electric Van
Kathmandu-CG Motors has introduced the King Long 16-seater electric van in Nepal on Monday, April 27, marking another step forward in the country’s transition toward sustainable transportation. The latest addition to its commercial EV lineup comes with a starting price of Rs 7.25 million, targeting operators seeking efficient and environmentally friendly mobility solutions.
The newly launched van is equipped with a 75.41 kWh Blade Battery, which the company highlights as a first in this segment. This advanced battery technology is built to enhance safety standards, increase durability, and provide a longer driving range, making it suitable for both city routes and longer journeys.
Powered by a 120 kW electric motor, the vehicle offers strong performance while maintaining zero emissions. Inside, the van features a roomy and comfortable cabin, designed to improve the overall travel experience for passengers, especially in high-capacity transport services.
According to CG Motors, the launch responds to the rising demand in Nepal for cost-effective and eco-conscious transportation options. To support customer confidence, the company is providing a warranty of 7 years or up to 400,000 kilometers on both the motor and battery.
King Long, established in 1988 in Xiamen, China, is a well-known manufacturer of buses and commercial vehicles with a presence in multiple international markets. In Nepal, the brand has already sold more than 5,000 units and continues to expand its footprint with strong after-sales support, including over 260 charging stations, 20 service centers, and a network of 14 dealers across the country.
