“The Nepal Discourse 2026” Held in U.S., Focus on AI and Digital Economy for Nepal
Kathmandu — The “Nepal Discourse 2026” was held in the United States, bringing together Nepali and Nepali-origin entrepreneurs, students, and professionals to discuss Nepal’s future in artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
The two-day event, organized by Nepali students studying at institutions such as Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), highlighted the growing importance of AI education, infrastructure, and digital transformation for Nepal’s economic development.
Discussions at the conference centered on the role of the digital economy as a key driver of growth, along with the need to strengthen policy stability and create an investment-friendly environment in Nepal.
The event, which covered themes including human development, artificial intelligence, and next-generation leadership, saw participation from more than 50 delegates from Nepal, including entrepreneurs, policymakers, business leaders, education experts, and members of civil society.
Participants also raised concerns about the challenges faced by Nepali students abroad, particularly in securing employment opportunities, while exploring ways to connect global Nepali talent and expertise with opportunities in Nepal.
Overall, the discourse emphasized the importance of building strong foundations in technology, education, and infrastructure to support Nepal’s long-term digital growth.
