China-supported greenhouse farming project expected to benefit Nepali farmers
Bagmati Province Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Madhusudhan Paudel has emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between Nepal and China to promote advanced and modern farming practices in the country.Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the China Chongqing–Nepal Vegetable Training Center and a model greenhouse vegetable farming project in Ward No. 21 of Lalitpur Metropolitan City and parts of Dakshinkali Municipality on Sunday, Minister Paudel said Nepal could achieve major progress in agriculture by learning from China’s advanced farming technologies.

The project is being implemented under the “China-South Asian Countries Poverty Alleviation and Cooperative Development Center Vibrant Village” initiative in coordination with the China Foundation for Rural Development (CFRD) Nepal Office. The event also marked the launch of the 2026 Vegetable Technical Training Program.

CFRD said the initiative will promote efficient water utilization, integrated pest management, balanced fertilizer application, and sustainable cultivation practices among local farmers.
