SS Group MD Rajiv Jain Summits Mera Peak, Showcasing Nepal’s Adventure Tourism Potential
Kathmandu – Mr. Rajiv Jain, Managing Director of SS Group of Companies, has successfully summited Mera Peak (6,476 meters / 21,247 feet), one of Nepal’s most popular trekking peaks located in the Mahalangur Himalayan Range of the Everest region. His achievement marks a remarkable personal milestone while also highlighting Nepal’s growing reputation as a world-class destination for adventure tourism and high-altitude trekking.
The expedition began on May 3, 2026, as Mr. Jain traveled from Kathmandu to Lukla Airport, the gateway to the Everest region. After several days of trekking through alpine trails, remote Himalayan villages, and glacier landscapes, he successfully reached the summit on May 11, 2026, at approximately 6:45 AM.
Renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu, Mera Peak offers climbers a unique blend of adventure, endurance, and cultural immersion. The expedition reflected Nepal’s unmatched natural beauty, rich mountain heritage, and the resilience and hospitality of local Himalayan communities that continue to attract travelers from around the globe.
Mr. Jain completed the climb under the guidance of veteran mountaineering mentor Mr. Rajesh Lama of Lama Walks, recognized for organizing Himalayan expeditions and exploratory mountain routes across Nepal.
At the age of 50 and as a strict vegetarian, Mr. Jain demonstrated that discipline, preparation, and determination can successfully support high-altitude mountaineering. His accomplishment not only reflects personal perseverance but also delivers an inspiring message encouraging broader participation in adventure tourism and outdoor challenges.
Beyond the summit itself, the journey stands as a tribute to Nepal’s position as a premier global hub for trekking and mountaineering tourism, where every expedition becomes both an adventure and a celebration of the country’s extraordinary landscapes, culture, and spirit.
