Mahalaxmi Development Bank Enters 32nd Year, Announces Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2026 – Season 5
Kathmandu, Nepal – On the occasion of entering its 32nd year of operation, Mahalaxmi Development Bank has announced the Mahalaxmi Corporate Cricket League 2026 – Season 5, scheduled to be held from Jestha 17 to Jestha 20 at Royal Sports Park. As part of its annual celebration, the bank has been organizing this cricket league every year, and it has grown into one of the most prestigious sporting events within Nepal’s corporate sector.
The tournament will feature participation from banks and financial institutions licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, insurance companies, and merchant banks. Over the course of four days, a total of 45 matches will be played, involving 240 players from 24 participating teams, including 9 commercial banks, 7 development banks, 3 finance companies, 1 microfinance institution, 3 insurance companies, and 1 merchant bank.
The opening ceremony will take place on Jestha 17, while the closing and prize distribution ceremony is scheduled for Jestha 22.
During today’s pre-tournament meet-and-draw event, the winner’s and runner-up trophies as well as the official team jerseys were unveiled. Team captains were also presented with their jerseys during the program.
The tournament will be organized in a league-cum-knockout format, with the 24 teams divided into six groups. The top team from each group will advance to the Super Six stage. Each match will be played in a 10-over-per-innings format.

Machhapuchchhre Bank, NMB Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, Kumari Bank, Everest Bank, Nabil Bank, Sanima Bank, Nepal Bank, Prabhu Bank, Garima Bikas Bank, Lumbini Bikas Bank, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank, Jyoti Bikas Bank, Shangrila Development Bank, Shine Resunga Development Bank, ICFC Finance, Shree Investment and Finance Company, Manjushree Finance, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, Sanima GIC Insurance, Siddhartha Premier Insurance, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance, and NIMB S Capital.
Awards will be presented in multiple categories including Champion, Runner-up, Man of the Series, Best Bowler, Best Batsman, Best Wicketkeeper, Best Fielder, and Fair Play Award.
All matches will be broadcast live through the bank’s official social media platforms, including its YouTube channel, as well as through Newa Television and its official YouTube channel.
