Marriott International and CG Hospitality sign strategic agreement to open Two Ultra-Luxury Hotels in Nepal
Kathmandu- Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have announced a landmark strategic partnership to develop two ultra-luxury hotels in Nepal, marking a significant expansion of premium hospitality offerings in the country.

Under the agreement signed in Kathmandu on Saturday, The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu and The Westin Kathmandu will be established, adding nearly 300 keys to Marriott International’s portfolio. The properties are expected to open by 2031 and are aimed at catering to both international travelers and local residents.The event commenced with a video presentation by the Nepal Tourism Board showcasing Nepal as a leading tourism destination. Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO of CG Corp Global and CG Hospitality Global, delivered the welcome address, followed by remarks from chief guest David S. Marriott, Chairman of the Board of Marriott International.Several signing ceremonies were held during the event, including agreements related to Westin Hotels & Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton and JW Marriott, culminating in a strategic partnership agreement between Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global.

Speaking at the event, Rajeev Menon, President of Marriott International for Asia Pacific excluding China, said the partnership with Chaudhary Group reflects a shared vision of bringing world-class hospitality experiences to high-potential markets. He noted that the landmark developments embody the brand excellence and exceptional standards that define Marriott International.CG Hospitality is the hospitality arm of Chaudhary Group, Nepal’s largest and most diversified multinational conglomerate, with interests spanning hospitality, FMCG, financial services, telecommunications, education, cement, electric vehicles, infrastructure and real estate. The group said it remains committed to supporting Nepal’s long-term tourism development and strengthening the country’s position as a globally recognized travel destination.

The ceremony was attended by David S. Marriott; Dr. Binod K. Chaudhary, Chairman of Chaudhary Group and CG Hospitality Global; Rahul Chaudhary; Rajeev Menon; and representatives from IEG Group, IJ Group and Sharma & Company.The event also featured a presentation on “Unnati”, an initiative of the Chaudhary Foundation, followed by the signing of an agreement between Unnati and the Marriott Business Council. Closing remarks were delivered by Dr. Binod Chaudhary.
The partnership is being viewed as a major milestone for Nepal’s tourism and hospitality industry, further strengthening the country’s appeal as an emerging luxury travel destination in South Asia.
