Nepal imports electric vehicles worth over Rs 25.5 billion in 11 months
Kathmandu – Nepal imported 10,845 electric vehicles (EVs) worth Rs 25.55 billion during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year, according to the Department of Customs.The imports include various models of electric vehicles ranging from 50 kW to 201 kW in capacity.
During the review period, 3,680 EVs with up to 50 kW capacity, valued at Rs 5.65 billion, entered the country.Similarly, 6,357 electric vehicles with capacities between 51 kW and 100 kW were imported, with a total value of Rs 16.49 billion.
The figures highlight the growing demand for electric mobility in Nepal as consumers increasingly shift toward environmentally friendly transportation options.
