TikTok Partners with NTB to Promote Nepal Tourism
Kathmandu – TikTok, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), has launched a three-day workshop series aimed at empowering tourism entrepreneurs, travel content creators, trekkers, and mountaineers with digital storytelling and content creation skills.
The initiative, part of the #VisitNepal campaign, seeks to showcase Nepal’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, diverse cuisine, and adventure tourism experiences to a global audience while helping travelers discover both popular destinations and hidden gems across the country.
The workshops bring together stakeholders from Nepal’s tourism sector to learn practical skills in short-form video production, audience engagement, digital storytelling, audience growth, brand partnerships, and responsible content creation. TikTok will also provide specialized training for tourism operators, trekking guides, and small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling them to effectively promote their services through digital platforms.
Speaking at the event, Nepal Tourism Board Officiating CEO Hikmat Singh Ayer emphasized the importance of digital innovation in tourism promotion. He said Nepal’s unique culture, natural beauty, wildlife, and hospitality can be more effectively presented to international audiences through creative digital content, strengthening the country’s presence in global tourism markets.
NTB Spokesperson Sunil Sharma highlighted the growing influence of digital platforms in shaping travel decisions worldwide. He noted that the partnership aims to strengthen Nepal’s tourism creator community by nurturing local talent and helping aspiring creators develop professional storytelling skills that contribute to the digital economy.
Ferdous Mottakin, Head of Public Policy and Government Relations for South Asia at TikTok, said the platform has transformed how people discover destinations, cultures, and experiences. He expressed confidence that the collaboration would help local creators and tourism businesses share Nepal’s extraordinary beauty and heritage with audiences around the world.
The workshop series features interactive sessions, hands-on content creation training, and discussions with industry experts, offering participants valuable insights into building engaging digital content and meaningful audience connections.
