‘The Shape of Momo’ Wins Best Feature at Nepal-America International Film Festival 2026
Kathmandu- Winners of the Nepal-America International Film Festival (NAIFF) 2026 have been announced, with Triveni Rai’s The Shape of Momo taking home the award for Best Feature Film.
The awards were presented during the festival’s closing ceremony held at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Maryland, where outstanding films and filmmakers were recognized across multiple categories.Joan Yonjan’s Crawling Crows received a Special Mention in the Best Feature Film category.In the Best Nepali Panorama category, Nani Sahra Walker’s Shakti won the top honor, while Kalani Gyakon’s Family Man earned a Special Mention.
Amitabh Joshi’s Have You Seen My God? received the Best Documentary award and also won the Best DMV Close-Up Award. Rajan Kathet’s The Road to Til was recognized with a Special Mention.
The Best Short Film award was jointly presented to Shubham Negi’s Hills Don’t Dance Alone and Amir Hossein Kashmiri’s One Two Three.
The Jury Award went to Deming Chen’s Always. Special Mention awards were also presented to Perfectly Seasoned, directed by Brittany Ramjattan and Andres Ramjattan; Solemn Promise, directed by Aline Katel; and Have a Good One, directed by Purandhya Sharma.
Festival Chair Purna Singh Baraili said the event concluded successfully, celebrating diverse storytelling while strengthening cultural and cinematic ties between Nepal and the international filmmaking community.
