Yamaha XSR 155 set to enter Nepal, expected to debut at NADA Auto Show
Kathmandu: Yamaha’s popular retro-styled motorcycle, the XSR 155, is preparing to make its way into the Nepali market. MAW Rides, the official distributor of Yamaha motorcycles in Nepal, is reportedly planning to introduce the neo-classic model during the upcoming NADA Auto Show scheduled for Bhadra.
The Yamaha XSR 155 is already available in several international markets and was launched in India around eight months ago. After its entry into India, the model is now expected to arrive in Nepal, targeting riders who prefer a combination of classic design and modern performance.
The XSR 155 carries Yamaha’s global retro design language, featuring a clean neo-classic look with modern elements. It is built on the same engine platform used in Yamaha’s popular R15 and MT-15, making it a stylish yet performance-oriented motorcycle in the 155cc segment.
Designed for both daily commuting and lifestyle riding, the motorcycle comes with a Deltabox frame, round LED headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, flat single-piece seat, 137 kg kerb weight, 120 mm ground clearance, and a 10-litre fuel tank. These elements give the bike a compact, practical, and retro-inspired road presence.
Powering the Yamaha XSR 155 is a 155cc single-cylinder, four-stroke, four-valve, SOHC, fuel-injected VVA engine. The engine produces 18.4 PS of maximum power and 14.2 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and also includes an assist and slipper clutch for smoother gear shifts.
In terms of hardware, the bike is equipped with USD front forks, a rear swingarm-linked monoshock suspension, double disc brakes, dual-channel ABS, tubeless tyres, and colour-matching alloy wheels. These features make the motorcycle suitable for riders looking for both style and reliable handling.
The XSR 155 also offers several modern features, including a fully digital LCD instrument cluster with Yamaha smartphone connectivity, call and SMS alerts, full LED lighting, DRL, traction control, and electric start.
In India, the Yamaha XSR 155 is priced at around INR 1.49 lakh. Based on this, the expected price in Nepal could be above Rs 5 lakh, although the official price will likely be announced during its launch.
The arrival of the Yamaha XSR 155 is expected to add a fresh option in Nepal’s growing retro and neo-classic motorcycle segment, especially for riders seeking a stylish 155cc bike with proven Yamaha performance.
