KMC to Provide Humanitarian Assistance and Educational Support to Ganesh Nepali’s Family
Kathmandu-Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has announced that it will provide humanitarian assistance, employment opportunities for a family member, and free education for the children of Ganesh Nepali, a 25-year-old man from Mugu who died after setting himself on fire outside the Department of Passports.
The metropolitan office said the support package will be formally approved through an executive committee meeting and implemented in accordance with legal procedures.Nepali sustained severe burn injuries after pouring petrol over himself and setting himself alight outside the Department of Passports. He died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.
In a statement, KMC spokesperson Nabin Manandhar expressed deep sorrow over Nepali’s death and extended condolences to his bereaved family. The statement also said the metropolitan city would fully cooperate with the government-formed investigation committee looking into the incident.
