IDP Education announced the opening of its first computer-delivered IELTS test venue
March 6, 2019: IDP Education, the global leader in international education services and the proud co-owner of IELTS, today announced the opening of its first computerdelivered IELTS test venue at Pashupati Vision Complex, Gaushala, Kathmandu.
The new computer-delivered IELTS venue was inaugurated by Mr. Vishal Gupta, IDP’s Director of IELTS Operations, South Asia, Indonesia and Malaysia and Mr. Abhishek Shrestha, Country Manager, IDP Education, Nepal in the presence of IDP’s top IELTS business partners. With the launch of the computer-delivered IELTS, candidates from Nepal will have more test dates available, be able to choose their Speaking test slot and will receive their IELTS results in 5 to 7 days,
which earlier used to take close to a fortnight.
As per Mr. Kabir Khadgi, Head of IELTS Operations, – IDP Education “IELTS test takers can now take IELTS, the world’s most popular high stakes English language test, on a computer. With the opening of this one of a kind venue, we aim to provide the best test experience to our candidates, which they have never experienced in Nepal.”
IDP first launched computer-delivered IELTS in Australia and has since introduced it around the world. The test content and structure remain the same as paper-based IELTS and the Speaking test remains face-to-face with a certified IELTS Examiner.
Computer-delivered IELTS also enables candidates to edit and highlight their answers, make notes for important questions, and complete their answers on a computer instead of manually writing the test. This option has become popular with candidates who are more comfortable typing instead of writing. However, paper-based IELTS is still available as an option.
The candidates can also try their hands on the practice tests available on IDP IELTS Nepal website (www.idpieltsnepal.com) to experience computer-delivered IELTS before their test date.
Mr. Abhishek Shrestha, Country Manager, Nepal, said; “IELTS is accepted by over 10,000 universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States. It is the only test that is available in two formats – paper-based and computerdelivered. We introduced this new option of computer-delivered IELTS as we want to empower test takers to choose how and when they take their test.” All computer-delivered IELTS test venues by IDP are state-of-the-art facilities customized to cater to the needs of a test taker.
