Next-Generation Toyota Hilux to debut with Hybrid Technology
KATHMANDU: Toyota is preparing to introduce the next-generation Hilux in the Indian market, bringing a refreshed design, upgraded technology, and the possibility of hybrid power for one of its most popular pickup trucks. The company is expected to reveal the full specifications and pricing during its official launch event.
The new Hilux is expected to receive a more modern exterior featuring a redesigned front bumper, slimmer LED headlights, a larger front grille with an updated Toyota emblem, and more muscular wheel arches, giving the pickup a bolder and more premium appearance.
Inside, the pickup is set to offer a significant technology upgrade with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional features are expected to include wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, LED headlights, new alloy wheels, fog lamps, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for enhanced safety and driving convenience.
Toyota is also expected to introduce a hybrid powertrain option for the new-generation Hilux, while retaining its proven 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine. The diesel unit is expected to produce 204 PS of power and 500 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Although official pricing has yet to be announced, the next-generation Hilux is expected to carry a slightly higher price than the current model, reflecting its updated design, improved technology, and expanded feature list.
