KATHMANDU — Dongfeng has introduced its 7.2-metre electric bus series for the Nepali market, offering Comfort Bus, City Bus and School Bus configurations as part of its push toward sustainable public transportation.
The electric bus is available with seating configurations of up to 29 passengers plus the driver, depending on the variant and door configuration. Measuring 7,180 mm in length, the bus offers a ground clearance of at least 250 mm and a maximum climbing gradient of 25 percent, making it suitable for varying road conditions.
Power comes from a 160 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor producing up to 1,500 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between 100.46 kWh and 140 kWh EVE battery options, delivering claimed CLTC ranges of 250 km and 350 km, respectively. The buses also support DC fast charging.
Safety and operational features include ABS, dual-circuit air brakes, front disc and rear drum brakes, hydraulic power steering, a reversing sensor, reverse voice alarm, safety hammers and a fire extinguisher. The bus can also be equipped with a stop-announcement system capable of playing Nepali-language audio.
The battery comes with a standard warranty of five years or 200,000 km, with an optional extended warranty of up to eight years or 400,000 km. The motor and controller are covered for five years or 100,000 km.
According to the product document, Aayam Intercontinental Pvt. Ltd. is the authorized importer and distributor of Dongfeng electric buses in Nepal.
