KATHMANDU: Triumph Motorcycles is preparing to introduce the Speed T4 in Nepal, positioning it as the brand’s most affordable motorcycle in the local market. The new model is scheduled to make its Nepal debut at the NAIMA Mobility Expo, which opens at Bhrikutimandap on August 11.
Hansraj Hulaschand & Co., the authorised distributor of Triumph motorcycles in Nepal, will introduce the Speed T4 as a more accessible entry point into the premium motorcycle brand’s 400cc lineup.
Built on the same platform as the Triumph Speed 400, the Speed T4 follows a modern-classic design while offering a simpler package aimed at keeping the price competitive. The motorcycle arrives in Nepal around two years after its introduction in India.
Powering the Speed T4 is a 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, four-valve DOHC TR-series engine. It produces around 31 PS of maximum power and 36 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle features a round LED headlamp, a 13-litre fuel tank, a slim rear section and retro-inspired styling with updated graphics. Its dual-format instrument cluster displays key riding information, including the tachometer, odometer and trip meter.
Other equipment includes a comfortable seat, slipper clutch, 43mm telescopic front forks, rear monoshock suspension, disc brakes with dual-channel ABS, USB charging, full LED lighting and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Although the Speed T4 shares its basic platform with the Speed 400, it produces less power and comes with a simplified equipment package, allowing Triumph to position it at a lower price.
The Speed 400 is currently priced at NPR 689,900 in Nepal. Based on its entry-level positioning, the Speed T4 is expected to cost around NPR 30,000 to NPR 50,000 less, although the official Nepal price is expected to be announced during its launch at the NAIMA Mobility Expo.
With its retro styling, 400cc-class engine and expected lower price, the Speed T4 could provide Nepalese riders with a more affordable entry into Triumph’s motorcycle lineup.
