Kathmandu – Pakistan’s 80th Independence Day was celebrated with a flag-hoisting ceremony at the Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal, attended by members of the Pakistani community, Nepali friends, embassy officials and their families.
Ambassador of Pakistan H.E. Mr. Mohammad Aamir Khan unfurled the national flag and paid tribute to the leaders and people whose sacrifices led to Pakistan’s independence in 1947.
Messages from President H.E. Mr. Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Mr. Mohammad Ishaq Dar highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to national unity, sovereignty, development and regional peace.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Khan emphasized Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts toward promoting dialogue and reducing regional tensions. He reaffirmed the country’s commitment to peace, progress and cooperation.
The Ambassador also expressed Pakistan’s readiness to further strengthen diplomatic and economic relations with Nepal, highlighting the two countries’ historic ties, shared values and longstanding friendship.
