Kathmandu – Nepal’s homegrown electric vehicle manufacturer Yatri Motorcycles has officially unveiled its new electric scooter “Yatri P2”, with a starting price of NPR 329,900. The company has introduced the scooter as a locally developed electric mobility solution designed for Nepal’s roads and urban transportation needs.
According to Yatri, the P2 electric scooter has been engineered considering Nepal’s diverse road conditions, including city roads, narrow streets and daily commuting requirements. The scooter features a compact design aimed at providing comfortable and practical mobility for urban riders.
The Yatri P2 comes with a 3 kW electric motor and offers a claimed range of up to 150 kilometres on a single charge under normal riding conditions. The scooter is equipped with a 2.5 kWh battery pack, while riders can also access additional range through a battery upgrade option that can extend the range up to around 250 kilometres.
The scooter has been developed with performance and safety features including combined braking system (CBS), a high-power LED lighting system and a strong chassis design. The company stated that the scooter’s design focuses on stability, control and reliability for Nepal’s varying road conditions.
Yatri has incorporated smart technology features into the P2, including a connected mobile application that allows users to access information such as real-time vehicle status, charging details, trip history and service-related updates. The scooter also includes features such as keyless operation and theft protection technology.
The company said the P2 is designed to provide a modern riding experience with improved convenience and efficiency. The scooter supports fast charging technology, allowing users to charge the battery within a short period, making it suitable for daily commuters.
Yatri Motorcycles stated that the P2 is part of its broader vision to promote locally designed electric mobility solutions in Nepal. The company aims to support the transition towards cleaner transportation by offering electric vehicles developed specifically for Nepal’s environment and user requirements.
The launch of the Yatri P2 adds another locally developed electric vehicle option to Nepal’s growing electric mobility market, where demand for sustainable and efficient transportation solutions has been increasing in recent years.
