Pokhara – A new chapter in Nepal’s international air connectivity has begun as Dubai-based airline flydubai starts direct scheduled flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Pokhara International Airport (PHH), creating a direct international link for Nepal’s tourism hub.
The new route marks flydubai’s second destination in Nepal after Kathmandu and makes it the first UAE-based airline to operate direct flights to Pokhara International Airport. The service is expected to improve international access to western Nepal and provide a more convenient travel option for passengers travelling to the city, the Annapurna region and other destinations beyond Kathmandu.
According to flydubai, the Dubai–Pokhara service will operate daily from 23 September 2026 from Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport under the airline’s codeshare partnership with Emirates. The partnership will allow passengers to access a wider network of destinations through Dubai with easier connecting travel options.
The launch marks an important milestone for Pokhara International Airport, which began operations in 2023 but had been awaiting regular international scheduled flights. The new connection is expected to support Nepal’s tourism sector by making the region more accessible to international visitors and encouraging greater movement of travellers through western Nepal.
Known as the gateway to the Annapurna trekking region, the city attracts visitors for its natural beauty, adventure activities, cultural heritage and outdoor experiences. The direct international route is expected to make travel more convenient for many tourists who previously had to arrive through Kathmandu before continuing their journey.
The Dubai–Pokhara route further strengthens Nepal’s aviation network and highlights growing efforts to expand international connectivity beyond Kathmandu, creating new opportunities for tourism, trade and mobility in western Nepal.
