Basantapur Durbar Square shone as 1,000 dancers performed Mass Dhime Dance
In a breathtaking celebration of unity and tradition, Kathmandu Durbar Square in Basantapur became the stage for the Mass Dhime Dance on World Tourism Day with the slogan “Tourism and Peace”.
The event featured 1,000 dancers performing in synchronized rhythm, captivating an audience of locals and tourists who gathered to witness this extraordinary cultural spectacle. This performance was organized by the Kathmandu Durbar Square Tourism Promotion Association. Originally planned for World Tourism Day, the event was postponed due to flooding and took place yesterday.
Adorned in vibrant traditional attire, the dancers’ energetic performance brought the rich cultural heritage of Nepal to life, celebrating the country’s artistic diversity. The Mass Dhime Dance, a traditional Newar drum dance known for its pulsating beats, was a powerful expression of Nepal’s deep-rooted cultural traditions, offering a mesmerizing experience to all present.
