Aksharaa School hosted first-ever International Conference on Vedanta and Science
The First International Conference on “Dialogue between Vedanta and Science on the Origin of Life & Evolution” commenced at Aksharaa School, Kadaghari, on Saturday. The two-day inaugural international event aims to explore the intersections of Vedanta philosophy and scientific principles regarding life’s origins and evolution.
The conference was inaugurated by Upendra Karki, Mayor of Kageshwori Manohara Municipality. Speaking at the opening session, Mayor Karki emphasized the fading traditions of Gurukul education and culture inherited from ancestors. He highlighted the need to revive the ancient Gurukul education system, expressing hope that the conference will offer profound insights into Vedanta and science, guiding the current generation through academic papers and discussions.
The conference brings together over 40 representatives from 35 countries. According to Anju Bhattarai, Executive Director at Aksharaa School, the event aims to foster dialogue on blending traditional Vedantic concepts with modern scientific understanding. Discussions will focus on integrating Sanatan cultural principles with contemporary science to address themes related to the origin and evolution of life.
Organized jointly by Shri Chaitanya Saraswat Sabha and the Sanatan Study and Research Institute Nepal, the conference features presentations by prominent figures such as Dr. Bhakti Vijnana Muni Maharaj, Samhita Shastri Arjun Bastola, Dr. JP Agarwal, Senior Neurologist; Professor Dr. Mohan Prasad Kharel, and Sripad Krishna Keshav Prabhu. More than 20 renowned spiritual thinkers, activists, gurus, and scientists from Nepal, India, the United States, and other nations presented their research papers during the two-day event.
