KATHMANDU — The all-new Nissan Tekton, a premium SUV recently unveiled in the global market, is set to make its debut in Nepal. Pioneer MotoCorp Pvt. Ltd., Nissan’s authorised distributor in the country, will introduce the vehicle at the upcoming NAIMA Mobility Expo.
According to the company, the Tekton will be officially unveiled at the mobility expo beginning on August 11.
Combining bold styling, premium comfort, advanced technology and strong performance, the Tekton is expected to offer Nepali customers a fresh SUV experience from Nissan.
The Nissan Tekton has attracted attention for its sculpted body lines, muscular proportions and commanding road presence. Its design appears to draw inspiration from Nissan’s flagship Patrol SUV.
At the front, the Tekton features LED headlamps accompanied by connected LED daytime running lights. Its muscular bonnet carries prominent Tekton branding. The rear features a connected LED taillight setup and Tekton lettering across the tailgate.
Modern and Feature-Rich Interior
The Tekton’s cabin comes equipped with a range of modern features, including a three-tone dashboard, digital driver display, touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof.
Nissan also offers more than 55 connected-car functions through its smartphone application. These include remote engine start, remote air-conditioning control, remote door locking and unlocking, light and horn controls, vehicle status monitoring and a “Find My Car” function.
Two Turbo-Petrol Engine Options
The Nissan Tekton will be available with 1.0-litre and 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine options.
The 1.0-litre engine produces 100 PS of power and 166 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is claimed to deliver fuel efficiency of up to 19.4 kilometres per litre.
The larger 1.3-litre engine produces 163 PS of power and 280 Nm of torque. It will be offered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The automatic variant will also feature paddle shifters and selectable driving modes.
Six Airbags and Level 2 ADAS
Safety is a major priority in the Tekton, with six airbags offered as standard across all variants. The SUV will also feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.
Additional standard safety equipment includes brake assist, an electronic stability programme, traction control, a tyre-pressure monitoring system, front disc brakes, a rollover sensor, a high-tensile steel safety cage, side-impact protection beams and pedestrian-protection technology.
