Applications open for Nepal Stock Exchange CEO position; 15-day deadline announced
Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has opened applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), following the resignation of former CEO Chudamani Chapagain.
A recommendation committee formed by the government has invited qualified Nepali citizens to apply within 15 days by submitting the required documents to the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance during office hours.
Applicants must hold at least a master’s degree or an equivalent qualification, such as Chartered Accountancy, in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Management, Information Technology, Business, or Law from a recognized institution.
Candidates are also required to have a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in the capital market, financial sector, or management, including at least seven years in a managerial position.
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the NEPSE CEO Selection and Recommendation Procedure, 2083, and should not fall under any of the disqualification provisions specified in the procedure. Candidates must also be between 30 and 65 years of age, in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s regulations governing appointments to public bodies.
In addition to the application, candidates must submit three sealed copies of a professional work plan as required under the selection procedure. The envelope must clearly state the applicant’s name and be labeled “Application and Professional Work Plan for the Position of Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Stock Exchange Limited“, along with the applicant’s signature.
