Lalitpur: Preparations for Vishwakarma Puja, celebrated on Ashwin Sankranti, are gaining momentum as artisans across Kathmandu Valley are working to create traditional idols of Lord Vishwakarma and the Navadurga deities.
With skilled hands and traditional techniques, craftsmen are carefully shaping, painting and decorating the idols ahead of the festival. Their work showcases Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and the craftsmanship that has been preserved through generations.
During Vishwakarma Puja, devotees worship Lord Vishwakarma, the deity associated with craftsmanship, tools and machinery, seeking blessings for progress, safety and success in their professions.
