KATHMANDU: Ather Energy is preparing to unveil its new EL 01 electric scooter later this month during Ather Community Day 2026, marking the debut of the company’s next-generation electric scooter platform.
The EL 01 will be the first model built on Ather’s newly developed EL platform, which has been designed to support larger-scale production, improve manufacturing efficiency, and make the company’s electric scooters more accessible to a wider range of customers. Ather also plans to introduce additional electric scooters based on the same platform in the future.
According to industry reports, the EL 01 is expected to feature a 5- to 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. The scooter is also likely to be offered with battery options ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh.
Depending on the battery variant, the new electric scooter is expected to deliver an estimated 160 to 200 kilometres of riding range on a full charge, making it suitable for both daily commuting and longer urban journeys.
Ather says the new EL platform has been developed to enhance production capability and flexibility, enabling the company to introduce multiple electric scooter models across different price segments in the coming years.
While the company has confirmed the launch of the EL 01, it has not yet revealed official specifications for the battery, electric motor, performance, or pricing. More details are expected to be announced during the official unveiling at Ather Community Day 2026 later this month.
