Kathmandu — Nepal’s Panchanga Nirnayak Bikas Samiti has announced the auspicious timings for major rituals of Dashain 2083, Nepal’s biggest Hindu festival.
According to the schedule, Ghatasthapana will be observed on Asoj 25 (October 11), with the auspicious time for establishing the sacred Kalash set at 11:47 AM.
The major Dashain observances are:
– Ghatasthapana: Asoj 25 — 11:47 AM
– Phulpati: Asoj 31 (October 17)
– Maha Astami: Kartik 1 (October 18)
– Maha Navami: Kartik 3 (October 20)
– Vijaya Dashami / Tika: Kartik 4 (October 21) — 10:26 AM
Dashain is celebrated across Nepal with rituals, family gatherings, worship, traditional music and cultural activities. Ghatasthapana marks the beginning of the festival, while Phulpati, Maha Navami and Vijaya Dashami represent some of its most important ceremonial moments.
The official schedule also includes other traditional observances, including Jamara rituals, deity processions and worship associated with the various days of Dashain.
Dashain 2083 is expected to bring millions of Nepalis together at home and across communities to celebrate Nepal’s rich cultural and religious traditions.
