Election Commission Prepares Voter ID Cards for House of Representatives Election 2082
Kathmandu: The Election Commission of Nepal has intensified preparations for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election 2082 under the first-past-the-post electoral system by printing voter identity cards for distribution across various districts.

On Poush 25, 2082, Election Commission staff were seen engaged in printing and organizing voter ID cards at the Commission’s office in Kathmandu. The cards will be dispatched to districts nationwide to ensure eligible voters receive official identification ahead of the election process.
Officials said the preparation of voter identity cards is a crucial logistical step to ensure smooth electoral management, voter verification, and transparency during polling. The Commission has been working to update and verify voter records so that citizens can exercise their franchise without obstacles.

The House of Representatives election is a key democratic exercise in Nepal’s federal system, with the first-past-the-post component playing a decisive role in determining constituency-level representation.
