ESewa Hackathon 2026 Concludes in Chitwan, Showcasing Youth-Led Digital Innovation
Chitwan- Payment service provider eSewa has successfully concluded the eSewa Hackathon 2026, a three-day residential innovation competition held in Sauraha, Chitwan. The event, which began on Friday and concluded on Sunday, brought together young innovators from across the country to develop digital solutions focused on technology, innovation, creativity, and environmental sustainability.
The hackathon was organized by eSewa in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund Nepal (WWF Nepal), reflecting a shared commitment to promoting digital innovation for environmental conservation and sustainable development.
A total of 63 young participants from 20 shortlisted teams competed in the event. The teams presented innovative digital solutions and prototypes addressing challenges related to fintech, cybersecurity, digital inclusion, and environmental sustainability.
Based on evaluations conducted by the judging panel, three teams were selected as winners. Team “Confusion Matrix,” comprising Aditya Kumar Sah Teli and Pooja Yadav, secured first place. Team “Cash Flow,” represented by Abhinandan Rajbhandari, Erbin Shrestha, Utsav Dahal, and Sabin Neupane, finished second. Team “Aryana,” consisting of Indra Prasad Sapkota, Sameep Ghimire, Saugat Adhikari, and Sneha Kshetri, claimed third place.
The winning teams received cash prizes of NPR 300,000, NPR 200,000, and NPR 100,000, respectively.Speaking at the closing ceremony, eSewa Chief Executive Officer Jagadish Khadka expressed confidence that the innovative ideas and solutions presented by the participants could be further developed and utilized to contribute significantly to Nepal’s digital economy and environmental conservation efforts.
The hackathon served as a platform for young talents to demonstrate their technological capabilities while addressing real-world challenges through innovation and digital transformation.
