EV donated to Chhatrapati Free Hospital by China to support sustainable healthcare
The Chinese government donated an 11-seater CG-brand electric vehicle (EV) to Chhatrapati Free Hospital in Kathmandu to enhance healthcare services and support environmental sustainability. The handover ceremony was inaugurated by Prakashman Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song.
During the ceremony, Prakashman Singh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, highlighted Nepal’s commitment to fostering friendly relations with the international community, particularly neighboring countries. He expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its continued support, especially in addressing the challenges posed by climate change.
Chen Song, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, emphasized China’s dedication to Nepal’s development and prosperity. He noted that the EV donation aligns with China’s goal of promoting sustainable development and clean energy solutions.
Chhatrapati Free Hospital, originally established in 1956, has evolved into a modern healthcare facility providing advanced medical services to the local community. Dr. Manojman Shrestha, Chairman of the hospital, expressed his appreciation for the EV donation and announced plans to introduce dialysis and ICU services shortly. He also appealed for an MRI machine to enhance the hospital’s capabilities further.
The event signifies the deepening partnership between Nepal and China, with both nations working together to promote sustainable development and improve the lives of their citizens.
