Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal reaches Beijing for official China visit
Kathmandu: Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Shishir Khanal has reached Beijing for his official visit to China from June 14 to 17.
Khanal arrived in Beijing at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by officials at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing.
During the visit, Foreign Minister Khanal is scheduled to hold meetings and discussions with different Chinese ministers and senior officials. The talks are expected to focus on Nepal-China relations, development cooperation, trade, investment, connectivity, and other issues of mutual interest.
The visit is considered important for further strengthening diplomatic, economic, and development cooperation between Nepal and China. It also comes at a time when Nepal is working to maintain balanced relations with both of its neighbouring countries, China and India.
Nepal and China share long-standing friendly relations, and Khanal’s visit is expected to help open further discussions on future cooperation between the two countries.
