Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal to visit China from June 14 to 17
Kathmandu: Nepal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Shisir Khanal is scheduled to visit China from June 14 to 17 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
China’s Foreign Ministry announced that Khanal will visit China following an invitation from Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.
During the visit, Khanal is expected to hold bilateral talks with Wang Yi and meet senior Chinese officials. The discussions are likely to focus on Nepal-China relations, development cooperation, investment, trade, connectivity, and other areas of mutual interest.
The visit comes shortly after Khanal’s official trip to India, making it an important diplomatic move as Nepal continues efforts to maintain balanced relations with both of its neighbouring countries.
Nepal and China share long-standing diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties. The upcoming visit is expected to provide an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries and discuss future areas of partnership.
Foreign Minister Khanal’s China visit is being closely watched as Nepal seeks to expand development cooperation while keeping strong and balanced ties with both China and India.
