Helicopter crash in Nuwakot: Contact lost shortly after takeoff
A helicopter that crashed in Nuwakot lost contact with air traffic control just three minutes after departing from Kathmandu, according to a statement from the Civil Aviation Office at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The statement revealed that the helicopter, which was en route to Syafrubesi, lost communication with the Kathmandu tower shortly after takeoff. The crash occurred at Suryachaur in Shivpuri Rural Municipality Ward No. 7.
Following the incident, a rescue helicopter from Prabhu Helicopter 9N-ANL was promptly dispatched to the crash site to assist in the recovery efforts.
Authorities have confirmed that the crash resulted in the deaths of five individuals. Among the victims, four were identified as Chinese nationals. The passengers were: Mr. Jutad Tang, Mr. Jie Li, Ms. Yiyad Wu and Mr. Zeming Xie. The helicopter was flown by Captain Arun Malla.
