High court allows KMC to continue New Road pavement expansion
The High Court has allowed the Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to continue its pavement expansion project at New Road, a busy area in the capital, which was halted by the Division Road Office.
Judges Dhruba Raj Nand and Prakash Kharel issued the order on Sunday, siding with KMC, which started the project on May 24 after selecting a contractor through bidding.
The Division Road Office stopped the work the next day, prompting KMC to file a petition at the High Court on June 9. The court’s order now permits KMC to resume improving the footpath at New Road.
