International Peace Festival Begins in Lumbini – Photo Feature

Kathmandu – The International Peace Festival has officially started in Lumbini, inaugurated by Tourism Minister Badri Prasad Pandey and Chinese Ambassador Chen Song. Ambassador Song highlighted Lumbini’s potential to become a global center for meditation.
The festival began with an International Meditation Session from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM. A cultural exchange between Lumbini Buddhist University and Changwa Monastery of China will be held this afternoon.
Key events include an International Peace Marathon tomorrow morning, followed by a Peace Concert in the evening. A conference on sports for peace is scheduled for April 6, and a photo exhibition on May 11 will mark the 25th anniversary of Changwa Monastery. The festival will conclude with a prayer ceremony and Buddha Jayanti celebrations.
A special welcome event was held yesterday to kick off the festival.
