Kathmandu – Kathmandu Gorkhas will face defending champions Lumbini Lions in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The match is scheduled to begin at 5 pm at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Lumbini Lions enter the match as the only unbeaten team in the competition. They currently lead the points table with seven points from four matches, having registered three victories and one no-result.
Kathmandu Gorkhas, meanwhile, are in fourth position with four points from three matches. The team has secured two wins and suffered one defeat so far.
Kathmandu will look to continue their winning momentum after defeating Biratnagar Kings by nine wickets in their previous match. Earlier, they registered a four-wicket victory over Karnali Yaks.
Lumbini have also maintained strong form in the tournament, including a 16-run victory over Janakpur Bolts and an eight-wicket win against Pokhara Avengers.
Two matches were played on Friday, November 6. Chitwan Rhinos defeated Pokhara Avengers by 30 runs, while Sudurpaschim Royals secured a 39-run victory over Karnali Yaks.
Despite an unbeaten 93-run innings by David Miller in his debut appearance for Karnali, the team was unable to avoid defeat against Sudurpaschim.
Pokhara Avengers remain at the bottom of the standings after losing four consecutive matches, leaving their playoff qualification hopes increasingly uncertain.
Saturday’s encounter is expected to be an important contest for both teams, with Lumbini aiming to extend their unbeaten run and Kathmandu seeking another victory to strengthen their position in the league standings.
The match will be the 18th fixture of the third NPL season, with eight franchises competing for places in the playoffs.
