Kathmandu named Top Nature Destination in Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Awards
Kathmandu, Nepal – Kathmandu has been honored as the top nature destination in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards. This prestigious accolade places the capital of Nepal among the elite, as fewer than 1 percent of Tripadvisor’s 8 million listings achieve the “Best of the Best” status, indicating the highest level of excellence in travel.
The award recognizes the unique charm of Kathmandu, which Tripadvisor praised for its rich blend of natural beauty and cultural heritage. “Nepal’s capital is surrounded by a valley full of historic sites, ancient temples, shrines, and fascinating villages,” the travel site noted. “Mingle with locals and animals amid Durbar Square’s monuments, or join mountain trekkers in the bustling Thamel District. In addition to its natural and cultural attractions, Kathmandu boasts exceptional spots for relaxation, such as the Fusion Bar at Dwarika’s Hotel. The entire nation of Mauritius took fourth place, while the island of Lombok in Indonesia rounded out the top five.
