MG HS Plug-in Hybrid Set for Nepal Debut at NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026

Kathmandu – The MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is set to enter the Nepali market, with its official unveiling scheduled for the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.

The SUV has gained popularity in international markets for its balanced combination of performance, electric range, practicality, and pricing. It is also expected to receive a positive response in Nepal.

Paramount Motors, the authorised distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, previously recorded strong sales of the petrol-powered HS SUV. However, demand declined following the rapid growth of electric vehicles in the country.

The MG HS Plug-in Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 135 kW electric motor. Together, the system produces a combined output of 295 bhp.

With its powerful hybrid setup, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds. The combination of a battery and electric motor is also expected to provide a smooth and comfortable driving experience.

One of its biggest highlights is its electric-only range. MG claims an official range of up to 120 kilometres, while various tests have reportedly delivered more than 110 kilometres in pure electric mode.

The vehicle emits only 12 grams of carbon dioxide per kilometre. Due to its low emissions, several countries classify the model alongside electric vehicles and provide tax incentives.

The MG HS also offers a spacious interior and a 507-litre boot, considered one of the largest in its segment. Its dashboard features two integrated 12.3-inch displays.

Other key features include 19-inch alloy wheels, heated leatherette seats, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry, ventilated front seats, a head-up display, and wireless smartphone charging.
