Nepal-China Month-Long Festivities to Celebrate Ties and Tourism
Nepal is hosting vibrant month-long celebrations from January 18 to February 20, marking the Chinese New Year and strengthening Nepal-China ties. The festivities coincide with the launch of ‘Visit Nepal Year 2025’ and commemorate the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations.
The grand opening event at Bhaktapur Durbar Square showcased cultural performances and rallies, while Thamel will light up with decorations and a cultural parade from January 22 to February 20. A Lantern Festival is set to dazzle Ratnapark from January 26 to February 24, alongside events in Pokhara, including an international festival on February 20.
Key highlights include dramatic performances, special ceremonies at Hotel Yak & Yeti, and a Nepal-China friendship football match at Dasharath Stadium on February 16. The celebrations, organized by the Chinese Embassy, Nepal Tourism Board, Chinese enterprises and other partners, aim to boost tourism and foster bilateral goodwill.
