Nepal cracks down on fake foreign employment services, Orders removal of misleading Ads
Kathmandu- The Department of Foreign Employment Nepal has issued an official notice warning against misleading advertisements and unauthorized services related to foreign employment, as concerns grow over fraud and misinformation in the sector.
According to the department, various cyber centers, training institutes, and individuals have been promoting services by claiming they can provide labour approval, fill foreign employment forms, or speed up overseas job processing. Authorities have clarified that such claims are misleading and illegal, as official labour approval procedures can only be carried out through authorized government systems. The department emphasized that these unauthorized activities are deceiving job seekers and increasing the risk of financial exploitation.
In response, the government has instructed all concerned parties to immediately remove misleading signboards, hoardings, flex prints, and digital advertisements that promote such services. It has also warned that those who fail to comply will face legal action under the Foreign Employment Act and other applicable laws. The notice highlights that the involvement of unauthorized middlemen has been contributing to fraud cases and confusion among individuals seeking employment abroad.
The government has urged the public to remain cautious and to use only official channels for foreign employment-related services. It has also encouraged people to avoid unverified agents and report any fraudulent activities to authorities. This move is part of a broader effort by the government to strengthen regulation, ensure transparency, and protect Nepali workers from being exploited in the foreign employment process.

With this action, the government aims to control illegal practices and create a safer and more reliable system for individuals seeking opportunities abroad, reinforcing its commitment to safeguarding the interests of Nepali migrant workers.
