Nepal Rastra Bank eases Dollar exchange regulations
Kathmandu: The Nepal Rastra Bank has announced significant changes to its dollar exchange regulations, providing greater convenience for travelers traveling abroad.
Previously, individuals could exchange dollars only twice a year. However, the new amendment allows for unlimited exchanges throughout the year, a move aimed at easing financial transactions for frequent travelers.
Despite this increased flexibility, the limit of exchanging only up to $2,500 at a time remains unchanged. Additionally, the limit on the amount of dollars that can be carried to Tibet has been increased to accommodate more travelers.
The bank has also revised the rules for smaller exchanges. The former policy allowed for exchanging up to $500 at a time and up to $1,000 annually. This limit has now been doubled, permitting up to $1,000 per exchange and $2,000 annually.
