Nepal’s skill shone in competitive CAVA Women’s Nations League final

Nepal’s hopes of securing the title in the CAVA Women’s Nations League were dashed on Wednesday as they lost the final match to India. Despite a courageous effort, the match extended to the fifth set, with Nepal ultimately falling short 3-2 at the National Sports Council’s covered hall.
The match began with promise for Nepal as they nailed the first set. However, India quickly responded by taking the second set. This back-and-forth pattern continued with Nepal winning the third set and India claiming the fourth, leading to a decisive fifth set.
In the fifth set, Nepal’s performance faltered, and they were defeated 15-5 by India, a team they had previously beaten in the league round. This loss marked a disappointing end for Nepal.
This defeat mirrors a similar outcome from the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) held in Nepal in 2019, where India won Nepal in the women’s volleyball final in a five-set match.
