North ABC: A raw journey to North Annapurna base camp
Aman Sakhya-Exploring North Annapurna Base Camp is not just about reaching a destination. It is about stepping into a part of Nepal that still feels raw, quiet and deeply connected to nature.

The journey begins from Kathmandu, heading toward Beni, a drive of around 280 kilometers. As the city slowly disappears behind you, the scenery changes beautifully. Tall buildings turn into green hills, flowing rivers and distant snow covered mountains. From Beni, the road continues toward Humkhola. It becomes rough and winding, passing through small villages where life moves slowly and peacefully.

The trek starts from Humkhola at around 1800 meters. From here, the trail leads into dense forests and narrow paths. It feels calm and untouched, with only the sound of rivers and wind through the trees. As you climb higher toward Guphaphat at about 3200 meters, the air gets colder and thinner, and everything around you feels more remote and wild.

The most special moment comes when you reach Pachankunda at around 4200 meters. This hidden place near North Annapurna Base Camp is far from busy trekking routes. Surrounded by high mountains and untouched landscapes, it feels peaceful yet powerful. There are no crowds, no noise, just pure nature and silence.
After spending time there, the journey back begins. Walking down through Humkhola, you eventually reach Tatopani at around 1200 meters. The natural hot springs here are the perfect way to relax after days of trekking and give your body a well deserved break.

From Tatopani, you drive back through Beni and return to Kathmandu. The journey ends, but the experience stays with you.
North Annapurna Base Camp is more than just a trek above 4000 meters. It is a true Himalayan experience that shows how peaceful and powerful the mountains can be when you explore beyond the crowded trails.
