Painting with purpose for stray dogs in Kathmandu
Kathmandu – A community-driven art event titled “Paint for a Cause” was held at Pragya Pratisthan, Kamaladi, on Friday, bringing together art enthusiasts to support the welfare of stray dogs in the Kathmandu Valley.
The event was organized by Kalāyatra by Saks in collaboration with Kathmandu Locals, The Skate Land, and The Learnify Camp. It combined creative expression with social responsibility, drawing participants from diverse age groups.
Attendees took part in guided painting sessions, filling the venue with artwork while supporting a cause focused on animal welfare. According to the organizers, 40 percent of the total registration fees collected during the event will be donated to Kathmandu Locals to support their ongoing rescue, feeding, and care initiatives for street dogs.
Families, students, and young artists participated in the program, which emphasized how creative activities can contribute to meaningful social impact. The event atmosphere reflected community solidarity, with participants showcasing their artworks and engaging in conversations around compassion and responsibility.
Organizers expressed gratitude to participants, volunteers, and partner organizations for their contributions, stating that the collective effort helped turn art into a platform for awareness, support, and care for animals in need.
